History

Credy banka follows a longtime tradition of banking in Kragujevac. This tradition begins in 1871, when Kragujevac Regional Savings Bank was established, and goes on for years and decades following the then existing social and other circumstances.

In 1955 the Bank was operating as Komunalna banka, and in 1966 it became Kreditna banka Kragujevac. Its network was expanding all over Šumadija region.

In the middle of 1970, the Bank joins the Jugobanka system, and from 1991 it operates as an independent bank within this system under the title of Jugobanka Jubanka AD Kragujevac.

In 2000, Šumadija banka AD joined this Bank, which greatly contributed to the enlargement of the Bank's potentials and its business network.

Both the Bank's independence and its development of business activities called for a new name. Taking into account all these facts and needs, upon the proposition of the Board of Directors, in June 2001, the Assembly of the Bank made decision to change the old name into CREDY BANKA AD KRAGUJEVAC.

The new title meant a new business challenge. It is essential and important to comprehend that the new business environment - our country has opened to the world, the privatization process is getting a full swing, market economy is being introduced - calls for high-quality operating, establishing connections with new partners in the country and abroad.

In December 2004, Regional Bank of Serbia merged with our bank too, which increased bussiness network of CREDY BANKA bz three new branches and their five subsidaries.

In view of these changes Credy banka is a bank for the new millennium. It is only this Bank that has the corporate entity status in this part of Serbia (Šumadija and Pomoravlje), which enables it to immediately become aware and carry out all requirements of its clients.

According to the Classification made by the National Bank of Serbia, the Bank ranks the group of 'A and B' banks, and has a large allowance for foreign banking. You may find it on the web site of the National Bank of Serbia - www.nbs.yu.
